Privacy policy

Short version: this website collects nothing. No accounts, no cookies, no analytics, no trackers, no third-party scripts. If you email us, we use your email to reply. That is it.

Last updated 27 September 2026 · applies to roare.app

1. Who we are

This website, roare.app (the “Site”), is published by ALPHA 444 IP Pty Ltd (ACN 686 955 028), an independent games studio based in Australia (“we”, “us”). We make the game ROAR-E. You can reach us at hello@roare.app.

This policy explains what happens to information when you visit the Site or contact us. It also contains a draft notice describing how the upcoming ROAR-E game is planned to handle data; that section is not yet in effect.

2. The website: what we collect

Nothing, by design. The Site is a set of static pages. It has:

  • No accounts or sign-ins. There is nothing to register for.
  • No forms. We do not ask you to enter any information anywhere on the Site.
  • No cookies of any kind — not for analytics, not for advertising, not for preferences. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to. The Site also does not use local storage, session storage or any other browser storage to identify you.
  • No analytics and no trackers. We do not measure visits, and no tracking pixels, fingerprinting scripts or social-media buttons are loaded.
  • No advertising.
  • No third-party content. Fonts, images and videos are served from our own domain, so your browser does not contact other companies' servers to display the Site.

The only script on the Site fills in our company details and plays videos. It does not send data anywhere.

3. Hosting and server logs

The Site is hosted by GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.). Like every web host, it may automatically record standard technical information when a page or file is requested — such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested, the time, and the referring page — in server logs used for security, abuse prevention and keeping the service running. We do not receive personalised reports from these logs and we do not use them to identify visitors. The host's own handling of that information is described in its privacy statement.

4. When you email us

If you send an email to hello@roare.app, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. We use that information only to reply to you and deal with your enquiry (for example, a support question or a press request). We do not add you to any mailing list unless you explicitly ask for launch news, and even then we will only email you about the release and you can stop that with a single reply.

We keep correspondence for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any follow-up — typically no longer than twelve months after the last message — unless we are required to keep it longer for a legal reason. Your email is transmitted and stored by our email service provider under its own privacy terms.

5. Children

The Site is a general-audience site about a game intended for a mixed audience, including children under 13. The Site does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it has no way to collect it: there are no forms, accounts, comments or uploads.

If you are a parent or guardian and you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, please contact us and we will delete it.

The Site may link to app stores, our hosting provider and other websites. Once you leave the Site, their privacy practices apply, not ours.

7. Your rights

We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Whether or not the Act's small-business exemption applies to us, we choose to follow the Principles. You may ask us what personal information we hold about you (in practice: only emails you have sent us), ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. If you believe we have mishandled your information, contact us first; if you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you also have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability under the UK and EU GDPR, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Our lawful basis for handling emails you send us is our legitimate interest in responding to you.

8. Security

The Site is served over HTTPS. Because the Site stores nothing about you, there is nothing on it to lose. Emails to us are protected by the ordinary security measures of our email provider.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If the change is material — for example, if the Site ever starts collecting anything — we will say so plainly on this page. This policy will be revised before the game is released, when the draft section below becomes final.

10. The ROAR-E game — draft privacy notice

Draft — not yet in effect. ROAR-E has not been released. This section describes how the game is planned to handle data and will be finalised, and republished, before store release. Nothing in it applies until then.

ROAR-E is being designed for a mixed audience that includes children under 13, and its data practices are designed to be defensible in a one-star review. The plan:

No account, no sign-in

The game will not require an account, a name, an email address or a phone number. Progress is saved on your device. If you turn on your platform's own cloud save (for example iCloud on iOS or Google Play Games on Android), that save is handled by the platform under its terms; we do not see it.

Crash reports and gameplay analytics (with your consent)

To fix crashes and tune difficulty — for instance, to see where players fall off a platform most — we plan to use Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics (services of Google LLC). The data is pseudonymous: an app-instance identifier, device model and operating-system version, and gameplay events such as “level 1-2 completed”. It will never include your name, email, contacts, precise location or the contents of your device. The game will ask before switching any of this on, you can say no and still play everything, and you can change your mind at any time in Settings. Retention periods and the exact list of events will be published in the final notice.

Purchases

Purchases are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play (or the relevant PC store). We never see your payment details; we receive only a receipt confirming what was bought so the game can unlock it and restore it on your other devices.

Advertising (free tier only, opt-in)

The free tier may offer strictly opt-in rewarded ads — for example a retry token — that you choose to watch. We plan to serve these through Google AdMob, configured for non-personalised, contextual advertising only and restricted to ad content rated appropriate for children. There will be no interstitial ads, no banners and no ads at all once the one-time unlock is purchased.

Children and mixed audiences

The game is designed to be age-neutral: no behavioural advertising, no chat, no user-generated content and no social features that expose personal information. We intend to comply with the Australian Privacy Act, COPPA (United States), the GDPR and the UK Children's Code where they apply, and the age-rating requirements of the stores.

Device permissions

The game is not expected to request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone or photos. It will use network access for the store, for remote difficulty tuning and for the optional analytics above, and haptics for vibration feedback.

Deletion

Because the game will not hold accounts, deleting the app deletes your local data. You will be able to ask us to delete any analytics data linked to your app instance by contacting us with the identifier shown in the game's Settings.
